Introduction of his studio

In his talk, he introduced his outstanding project which is called “Urban Floating Islands”. He futher explain about his collecting and he named this process ”Collecting data”

Collecting

1. Spontaneous renewal of intervening body on the site and construction.

2. Survey of landscape resources.

3. Redefine the relationship between urban and village.

Urban Archipelago Project

Urban Archipelago Project is classified to 9 small project.

Project 1, Time machine is divided to 2 parts. First part is for catching image, second is for producing image.

Project 2, Family house is for introducing how can they do in architecture context and including exhibition.

Project 3, Interacting house is for local people to communicate and discuss freely about the social, local food, logo design and so on, through these method to understand the need of local people.

Project 4, House of Jhubei is a way to allow the local children to experience the planting meanwhile transfer the knowledge. It has a pump in creative way to collect the water up to the roof garden rather than cut the river

Project 5, House of hospital is assigned to 3 steps. First step is for researching vegetation. Second step is for collecting data and measuring information of body. Third step is for discussion with client.

Project 6, Voice house is a way for us to check the heart bumping. Second floor room transforms the heart bumping sound to image by artist.

Project 7 -9, House of costal line for capturing nature forces such as wind, water, rain to transform the energy for human need.

After sharing his urban project, he continued to introduce the next step of project which is called “Reworking Archives”. He asked that how can we create dynamic landscape?

In my opinion, Architecture is not just for building design. It can improve the interaction between people rather that just focus on the building design.Another things I strongly agree form his talk is “not why architecture is needed but why architecture needs to exist”. He encourage us to assume architecture like our entire life’s study. We must use our knowledge and enthusiasm to create a solution in order to solve the challenge.
